Paula Abdul: “I got lost in my notes”

American Idol 7 is so controversy- and drama-starved that Paula Abdul’s screw-up last night has become the most interesting thing about this season. It’s even fueled conspiracy that the show is scripted (Really? And they still end up with crap like last night?), that Paula is fed lines (Again, couldn’t they come up with something just a little bit better than the crap she says?), or that she was drunk (Please. She’s been so much loopier than that.). But Paula has her own explanation: She got confused. “I got lost in my notes, and that is as simple as it…

Christian needs surgery for a ruptured tendon but will stay on the show

Dancing with the Stars 6 contestant Cristián de la Fuente needs surgery for the injury he sustained during Monday’s performance, but he will stay in the competition, as he revealed during Tuesday’s results show. The show used his injury as a teaser all night, as Christián was there, but no one addressed how he was doing. At one point, Tom Bergeron even said, “Who will suffer the worst pain of all? Elimination.” Yeah, being eliminated from a competition that has no prize is much worse than having a muscle torn apart. Tom and Samantha–whose hair was kind of crazy and…

Paula Abdul thinks one song is two on Idol’s “chaotic” Neil Diamond night

Paula Abdul has been super well-behaved this season, and everything seems, well, balanced. She’s had her moments, like when she said she was going to decapitate David Archuleta, but mostly she’s been rather demure. While she didn’t exactly flip out last night during American Idol 7’s unnecessarily frenetic performance episode, she did have the evening’s strangest moment, as she heard two songs when everyone else heard just one. The final five performed two songs each, but the judges didn’t comment after their first songs. Instead, Ryan Seacrest brought the finalists on stage at the end of the first round, before…

Veronica Webb is “not coming back” for Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style’s second season

Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, the makeover show that was surprisingly renewed by Bravo after its first season was pulled off the air, won’t feature Tim’s co-host Veronica Webb in its second season. Producers initially wanted a co-host for Tim because he was “too high-brow”, and cast supermodel Webb in the role. But now, she’s out, although she doesn’t say why, or who’s decision that was. “I’m not coming back for Season 2,” she told the Miami Herald. Tim will be back, though.” She says she’s doing a BBC World series instead. She has nice things to say about the…

Farmer Wants A Wife debuts tonight

Tonight at 9 p.m. ET, The CW debuts its Bachelor clone Farmer Wants a Wife. The series is described by the network as “a comedic reality series that brings city women to one charming, hard-working farmer,” and is based on a format that’s been used internationally. In the US version, 10 women travel to rural Missouri and the small town of Portage Des Sioux to compete for farmer Matt’s affections. Matt told The New York Times that he’s doing the show because “I was born and raised a farmer, but I really don’t fit that stereotype. It’s one of the…

CW putting Beauty and the Geek on hiatus, may cancel it

The current season of Beauty and the Geek will probably be the show’s last season for a while, and could be the last season ever. The fifth season–which concludes May 13 and I completely forgot was even on, perhaps because they decided to dump their usual format after their old format got tired–has had low ratings. A clip show last Tuesday was watched by 1.6 million, while 1.5 million watched the regular episode the week before. It debuted with 1.9 million viewers, a loss of about 50 percent of its viewers from last fall and spring. That “serious ratings slippage”…

Cristian de la Fuente hospitalized due to a “severe muscle cramp” in his arm

During his second dance on last night’s episode of Dancing with the Stars 7, Cristián de la Fuente stopped dancing momentarily and then stumbled through the end of his Samba routine because of an injury to his arm that later sent him to the hospital. After the dance, immediately after the music ended, host Tom Bergeon said, “Let’s find out what’s going on. What happened buddy?” Cristián said, “I pulled a muscle.” Tom asked him if he wanted to get the judges’ scores, and although Cristián said “I’m fine, I’m fine,” he was clutching his arm, so our host made…

Adam hedges on charity donation; James says he’s bisexual, knew gay porn would come out

Big Brother 9his promise to give $100,000 to the organization that fired him, and fellow contestant James says he concealed the fact that he was bisexual because of homophobia, even though he knew his videos would come out. First, Adam’s former boss told the New York Post that they’ll take the money but want an apology first. “At this point, it is important to me that Adam makes a public apology about his comments and clears my name as well as the name of the foundation,” Olaf Hampel said. “It would be awesome if Adam is keeping his official promise…
